With the beginning of a new season comes the beginning of a new seasonal quest line. In Season 2, players will work together with Erys, a vampire hunter, to defeat the most recent threat to Sanctuary. Gemma Chan, who is making her first appearance in a video game, provides the voice of Erys. The players will work together with Erys to track down the vampire master responsible for a string of homicides, and along the way, the players will become infected with vampirism themselves. In addition to the seasonal quest line, there will also be a new seasonal event called Blood Harvest that players can participate in. As was the case during Helltides, a portion of the map will be taken over by vampiric forces and will subsequently become an excellent location from which to gather the resources required for the season. Players will be able to unlock new rewards such as items, Legendary caches, Vampiric Powers, and more as they progress through a new system that is connected to Blood Harvest called the Hunter's Acclaim board. Players will unlock these rewards by participating in Blood Harvest-related activities.

Powers Of The Vampire And Season Of Blood

There are a total of 22 new Vampiric Powers that players will have the opportunity to obtain once the game is released. Players will be able to spend a new resource called Potent Blood, which will become available to them as they progress through the season, on the game's character screen via a new tab in order to unlock new powers and improve existing ones. A total of five active powers can be possessed by a character at any given time.

Potent Blood is a new resource that can be acquired through the Character tab and used to further develop the Vampiric Powers already possessed by the player.

Having said that, there is a catch. Unlocking the abilities is not sufficient on its own. In addition, players will require a new type of armor known as Pact Armor in order to activate the aforementioned powers. Ferocity, Divinity, and Eternity are the three categories of Pacts that are available in total. In order to activate particular powers, a predetermined quantity of Pacts will first need to be acquired. Blizzard has provided the example of a pair of gloves that can be used to obtain one of each different type of Pact. It's possible that activating a particular Vampiric Power will require spending one Ferocity, which will leave you with one Divinity and one Eternity to spend on other powers.

When D4 Season Powerleveling comes to the powers themselves, there are two distinct categories: Minor Vampiric Powers and Major Vampiric Powers. Minor Vampiric Powers are more limited in scope. Minor Vampiric Powers are not as potent as Major Vampiric Powers, but they require a smaller number of Pacts to be activated. Major Vampiric Powers, on the other hand, require a total of six Pacts. The complete roster of abilities from which players will be able to select one to use is presented below.

The Season of Blood, Changes in Renown

The Renown system will undergo one of the most significant overhauls in preparation for Diablo IV. It will no longer be necessary to "grind out" Renown for each new seasonal character by completing side quests, dungeons, and Strongholds once Season 2 rolls around. This change will take effect immediately. Instead, Blizzard is going to make it so that the rewards for Renown are account-wide. This means that if a player has reached max renown on one character, regardless of whether it's a seasonal character or a standard character, those rewards will automatically be unlocked for all future characters in the player's account. This applies to both seasonal and standard characters. Players who had already reached maximum renown on a non-seasonal character shortly after Diablo IV's launch will notice a significant reduction in the amount of grinding that felt like it was required during the first season of the game. This is a significant change that will have a significant impact. Renown rewards that are unlocked on one Hardcore character will carry over to subsequent Hardcore characters, but Renown progress made on standard or seasonal characters will not carry over to those characters.

The rate at which characters level up is another aspect of the grind that Blizzard intends to address when developing Diablo IV. The amount of experience points a player receives from defeating monsters of level 50 or higher increases proportionally with their level. Blizzard has stated that one of its goals is to make the grind to level 100 approximately forty percent shorter overall. In Season 2, the XP bonuses you receive for playing on higher World Tiers, elixirs, and seasonal blessings will all become multiplicative, which will help with this.

Alterations Made to the Season of Blood Endgame

The endgame of Diablo IV will become less of a grind with the release of Season 2, and activities will become more rewarding as a result. For example, the amount of gold and experience points that are awarded for participating in Helltides and completing Grim Favors will see an increase. In addition, the difficulty of Nightmare dungeons will be reduced, and players will be able to teleport directly to the beginning of dungeons rather than starting from the area outside the entrance. Blizzard will also reduce the amount of backtracking that is required in Nightmare dungeons. Nightmare dungeons will award more Glyph XP as well, reducing yet another endgame grind, and some of the affixes found within them, such as Lightning Storm, Death Pulse, and Drifting Shade, will be adjusted to be less punishing. This will reduce the amount of endgame content that players have to grind through. Additionally, the likelihood of encountering world bosses and Legion events will increase.

In Season 2, mounts are getting an improvement that was long overdue. When you come across a barricade in the future, you won't have to dismount in order to destroy it like you used to. After the release of Season 2, the mount Spur ability will give players the ability to easily breach barricades. In addition to this, mounts will be around 15% faster in general, and they will have reduced cooldowns for actions such as dismounting manually and dismounting attacks.
