Path of Exile: How to Make Currency

Have you ever wondered how other Path of Exile players farm POE Currency currency and why nothing drops for you? If so, then you’ve come to the right place! We will show you how to farm currency in Path of Exile.

What it’s about: A lot of players have problems skilling their Atlas-Tree correctly, which means that the hoped-for loot usually fails to materialize. This guide is for both newcomers and players who have trouble generating enough currency to get to the end-game bosses and earn all four Voidstones.

The ways to farm currency in Path of Exile are as numerous as the different currency items themselves. Basically, you can not only scoop up a lot of cash with any league mechanic, but also by crafting or selling in bulk. To successfully farm currency, there are only two rules:

Commit to one or two mechanics that you enjoy (e.g. Harbinger and Legion) and focus completely on those.

Run as many maps as possible.

Three Strategies for Currency Farming in Path of Exile.

The following three ways to generate currency in Path of Exile are especially effective on league start. At this point, all players start from zero, so many smaller items can still be sold very profitably.

Juicing Maps Properly.

Assuming you like to play Harbinger and Legion (any other mechanic will do), ensure all other mechanics are blocked in the Atlas Tree. Also, ensure you have selected the appropriate nodes for Harbinger and Legion. Moreover, essential Atlas-Tree-Points are the ones for more item quantity and item rarity. In short, use your Atlas Tree to ensure that you get Harbinger and Legion encounters on every map and that these encounters contain as many bosses and as much loot as possible.

In addition to the points in the Atlas Tree, you should juice your maps via your map device. This means that you fill all four (or five) slots. The first slot will be filled with your map, of course. The other free slots you can use for scarabs or fragments.

With the appropriate scarabs, you can guarantee that you have more Harbingers on your map. The fragments provide even more item quantity for the drops, increasing the pure number of drops. Besides the slots, you can also buy various mods for your maps in the map device, such as “Fortune of the Brave”, which also increases your loot.

If you might already have voidstones in your atlas, you can improve your maps even more, namely, by sextants. By right-clicking on a sextant and then left-clicking on any voidstone, you can get various modifiers on your maps, e.g. additional Harbinger or Legion encounters, greater monster pack size, or an increased number of Legion shards.

With these prerequisites, you’ll get the most out of your maps. You should increase the map quality to 20% with the cartographer’s chisels (note: be sure to use the chisels on the normal white map, not on the rare yellow map! Then you only need four chisels to reach 20% quality).

The numerous Harbinger and Legion encounters pay off over time and is guaranteed to bring you a hefty profit, as these two mechanics can drop the following items, among others:

Another way to farm currency in Path of Exile, especially at the beginning of a league, is to sell boss invitations. As soon as you have unlocked the symbols for the Searing Exarch and the Eater of Worlds on your map device, you can play the map under the influence of the respective boss by clicking on the corresponding symbol.

These boss icons also show how many maps you still have to run to receive an invitation to the Exarch or the Eater. You can sell these invitations well throughout the league. Even POE Items if the price gradually drops, you’ll still get around 200 Chaos Orbs per invitation after two months.
